Project: Yankees Dugout

Our Role: Fabrication & Installation

Designer: Johanna Goldfeld Design LLC

Description: New Project was approached by Johanna Goldfeld, of Johanna Goldfeld Design LLC to fabricate and install an exhibition of New York Yankee Memorabilia. The Hebrew Home, an AAM accredited institution possesses an exquisite collection of over 5,000 sculptures, drawings, prints, as well as decorative arts and objects. The main design idea for the exhibition was to transport the senior residents into Yankee Stadium by surrounding them with exciting objects and pictures that evoked memories of walking into Yankee Stadium. Among the many items on display are a page from Joe DiMaggio’s handwritten diary and several bats signed by Yankee legends, as well as seats and a turnstile from the original Yankee stadium. Sounds from Yankee Stadium play in the background, and the exhibit features a video of interviews with residents discussing their attachment to baseball. The Hebrew Home uses the exhibition as a part of an inspiring effort to evoke memories in elderly residents and those with Alzheimers.
