First presented at the de Young Museum in San Francisco, Contemporary Muslim Fashions showcases 80+ ensembles, prints, and videos highlighting contemporary modest fashion. Inspired by the Córdoba Mosque in Spain, exhibit designers Isometric Studio reenvisioned the original exhibit layout by creating a series of discrete spaces within the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum. Utilizing translucent, refined curvilinear forms, the design lends a sense of intimacy to the 6,275 sq. ft. exhibition representing designers from around the world.
New Project was responsible for full design engineering, fabrication, and installation of the exhibit.
